Eneri.net is back!

Every few weeks, I check on www.eneri.net with the hope that its creator would return to the public web. The original Eneri.net made a significant impression on the Flash design community by breaking away from the "coldness" of early Flash animation into an expressive blend of motion, texture, and narrative. Eneri is a major influence on how I think about Flash.

Today, I discovered that the website has returned with a full portfolio. From the portfolio, I was surprised to learn that Irene Chan was also responsible for the look-and-feel of the highly intuitive FlashCom UI components. Those components take a modeless, minimalist approach to UI design that inspired much of my work at AIUOnline before I came to Microsoft. So, it turns out that the creator of Eneri has influenced two entirely different aspects of my professional life :)

Googling for "Eneri" will yield school papers, discussions, book chapters, and interviews. To get an idea of how suddenly and surprisingly the designer's website closed its doors, check out this thread at Flazoom. I'm glad to see it's back online again!
