I was waiting for AT&T to arrive for my cable modem installation. I looked outside and saw thin branches of a tree in the wind, so I wrote this flash movie to generate bamboo leaf brush-strokes. It took about half an hour or so...
I don't have time to take this effect anywhere, feel free to use the code as you wish. Maybe even post a link to something you've made with my code.
Basically, I use the curveTo method to draw a triangle with two curved edges. By varying the location of the anchor, location of the triangle tip, width of the triangle, and height of the triangle, I'm able to create an impression of leaves and grass.
