User interfaces frequently employ beveling techniques to distinguish one section of an interface from another section. Traditionally, beveling in Flash took a lot of manual labor to draw each vector rectangle. Fortunately, these two bevel panel component allows you to create beveled rectangles quickly and easily. Unlike regular vector graphics, the beveled edges of these rectangles will not distort when you resize the component. You can change the colors of the beveled panel by using the color component parameters in the property inspector. Other component parameters allow you to specify the width of the bevels, as well as invert the beveling scheme.
The component also supports several methods for manipulating the component via Actionscript. For more information and demonstrations of the component methods, check out the online demonstrations for single and double bevels. The downloadable zip file includes examples and very thorough documentation.

I don't know if this the right place for suggestions and I've only looked at the code quickly but I thought I'd post a few thoughts:
1) bevelWidth_prm should probably be bevelSize_prm
2) setSize doesn't need to be overwritten in the subclasses since they are both the same code. just move it up into the parent class
3) a better way to handle inverting the bevel might be to set _rotation to 180. this is how I handled it in a bevel class I wrote, but all in all yours is much nicer.

1. Saved settings - a component that allows you to save the settings of your FStyleFormat properties to the local hard-drive (using Shared Objects). This allows you to re-apply the same styles to multiple projects, so that you don't have to re-choose in all those hex values again!
2. Free-style bevel shapes - a component with a custom interface that allows you to specify free-style polygons of your bevel panels, using draggable points instead of simple rectangles. Or maybe Stuart will solve the equations before I even start on this feature :-)
Cram, I promise I'll post the live preview code later tonight for both bevel panels. They're pretty simple, but I'll post them in case you want to study the code (only a few lines extra).

I haven't downloaded the source (and probably wouldn't understand half of it anyway as I'm still learning Actionscript) but what about this idea:
Change the outer sections of the bevel to a gradient fill instead of a solid. If done correctly, you could achieve a smooth look to wide bevels.
