Solving the problem from opposite direction

I'm continuing to document my progress in linking the lego robot to some macromedia technologies.

At this point, I'm quite comfortable with the leJOS API and laptop->IR->robot communication through custom java applications. Now I'm going to tackle the project from the opposite direction, starting with CFMX and JRun.

So far, I've got CFMX and JRun installed as a standalone server. I'm currently learning how to create Java class instances via the cold fusion CFObject tag, and call methods on the Java class.

Today's documentation: "Using Java and J2EE elements in Cold Fusion MX application"

Hi there,

I just wanted to let you know i'm also playing around with the Mindstorms somethimes.
I made a control and receive interface in Macromedia Director for my RCX 2.0.
It's is using an ActivX control named 'Phantom'.
My experience is that it works very good, appart from the minimal distance the robot can travel without losing connection to the USB tower.

The project we made was a remote controller to let our robot drive over a huge kids painting. The robot has multiple lightsensors and sends lightintensity values based on the color it is over to the pc.
Pc side is using those values to project pieces of video and audio samples of the kids painting.

If i can find some time i will give it a try to hook up flash to the robot.

Hey HexMan, that sounds pretty awesome! I chose to go with lejos instead of activex because the java interface makes it possible to control the lego via Flash -> Flash remoting -> ColdFusion -> JRun.

Do you have a URL or photos of the robot? Wow, how many lego packages did you have to buy to get all those light-sensors? :)
