And its not my settings, checked 'em. In fact if I set my settings disk space to use to none, I'm supposed to get the setting dialog poping up asking me for space. It does not pop up.

I need to write a file to the HD of the user,,
my Flash mov is a .exe and previously I have been using FSCOMMAND"save" and the path.. I have been looking at sharedOB and I can't work out how to assign a path.. is this possible??

Regarding the sample, have you guys figured out the cause of those SharedObject problems, or is it still not work?
Some commmon bugs:
- Forgot to call so.flush(), which writes to disk.
- Forgot to use the so.data property

can a swf on a domain e.g anywhere.com access a shared object created by a flash mx projector file run on a users machine if given permission using:
system.security.allowDomain("anywhere.com")
without loading that file into the projector.

Basically, can we use it as our own private browser cache to store, say, a course video our player doesn't have to download it (loadmovie) everytime the student wants to watch it?
