Flash Forward 2002 Components Source Code

http://www.samuelwan.com/flashforward/sanfrancisco2002/

Thanks to everyone who came to the OOP and Components sessions at Flash Forward 2002! I hope you found our presentations both informative and helpful. The zip file in this directory contains all of the source code from the presentation, broken down into step-by-step versions. However, the zip file only contains one mp3 from the playlist in order to avoid posting commercial mp3's online (I wrote and produced the LaoTzueTrance track). I will soon have session notes available, either on this website, or as a more complete tutorial at Macromedia.com/desdev sometime soon. Email me if you have any questions: method@method.org, or look for me on Branden's flashcoders mailing list at chattyfig.figleaf.com.

Cheers,
-Sam

Hello,
I have been playing around with your mp3 player that you showed at FF and I can't get the thing to play. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I added tracks to the musicfiles and the songlist but when I hit play nothing happens. Is the file you posted a fully functional version? Thanks for you help.

I was wondering if you could make the sample that had two text fields and a dataprovider available. I am interested in playing around with dataprovider functionality, but I can't seem to find any good samples. I remember that you gave a nice little demo at the conference, but it is not part of the zip that you made available.

thank you

Hey Jesse, I remember writing that little demo during Q&A, but can't
remember exactly what it's about.

I recommend checking out the new demo on my website about dynamic piecharts,
it has some good use of the dataprovider class. If you're looking for more
information, please feel free to ask me questions, because I'm working on a
book about components right now, and it's always helpful to see what other
people are trying to learn.

Hi,
I found this website just by surfing and I was surprised because I finally found something interesting about DataProviderClass.

If you (Sam) could send me a short example of how works this thing it would help me a lot.

Here is my problem: I want to have a listbox which has a txt file as a DataProvider.

So if you think you can help, do not hesitate.

thanks
